i'm not hiding anything

gabri: mommy, may i please have some candy?
me: no, hita. it's 5:30 in the morning (although major points for politeness).
gabri: oh, ok mommy.

~approx 20 minutes later~

me: (waking up to the sweet smell of...cherry sucker(?)...in my face) are you eating candy?
gabri: yes
me: why are you hiding it from me?
gabri: i'm not hiding it, it's under yaya's bed. just don't look there. i put it there because you told me i can't have any. if i put it under yaya's bed, you won't know where it is and i can have it.

~much later in the day~

we are in the process of cleaning out yaya's closet and purging all the beautiful little clothes that don't fit her but horrifically enough still have the price tags on them! ugh, so upset that all the while i was sad that my perfect second daughter has no new clothes, only hand-me-downs, there were wonderfully good, new, stylish outfits begging to be worn. oh well, there's a therapy session and perfectly good meds wasted for no real reason.

anyway, i digress. so we decide to organize yaya's room and as we're entering it, gabri reminds me, "remember not to look under her crib." shortly after, yaya found the stash and gabri freaked out because, this is supposed to be all hers. but since it's yaya's room (possession is 9/10 of the law right?), she claimed it as hers, so a who-can-eat-the-candy-the-fastest competition ensued (no pics of that) and neither of my girls have come down from the ceiling (no pics of that, either)...and this was a week ago.

(i had to take the discovery pic with my phone, hence the awesome quality.)
